My wife's friends took her out to celebrate her milestone Birthday at our favorite restaurant. Great service and food, and one of the owners, Naveed's wife, took care of them along with Priya who brought over a nice celebration dessert. Always great to visit and it will remain our go to for all our extended family celebrations.
Happened to have the buffet brunch on a Wednesday, and it was superb. Last time, I posted a review in 2022, and was a little disappointed, but now it is back on track!
This place hit the spot yesterday. I enjoyed the tofu and goat on the buffet menu the most but everything was delicious. There was a server making one of the dishes onsite similar to the way fresh omelettes are made at breakfast places, but I don't know the name of the dish that he made. Comparing to the last Indian buffet that I went to in Waldorf, this one definitely wins in taste. The ambiance is nice too. It is great for business or personal lunches.
This review is for Bombay Tandoor's lunch buffet. Bombay Tandoor tends to fill up with people shortly before noon. Their lunch buffet is clean and a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes are offered. Here is what you should know: 1) Tandoori chicken comes in bite-sized pieces and contains bones. My personal preference would be to serve larger pieces than smaller, meatball-sized ones. I took away one star for this reason. 2) The desserts today included a fruit custard and gulag jamun. Both were sweet. For some, they might be too sweet, but I liked them both. They helped cut the spiciness of some dishes. 3) Their butter chicken tastes wonderful. I used naan to capture every bit of the tasty sauce. This was my first time having their lunch buffet. I recommend this place and would return again.
It's been years since I came here, since I no longer live in that area anymore, but we had the opportunity to come here and boy am I glad I did. While a little more on the pricey side, the food was delicious and portions were generous. In general, I've noticed lots of places charge regular price, but noticeably smaller portions than before COVID. I didn't get that feeling here. I ordered the Thali platter ($28). My son wasn't convinced the Thali ($10) on the kids menu was going to be enough, so we ordered the regular version of Butter Chicken ($20) which was much too much for him. Overall, I was very happy with the experience. Will try to come back next opportunity I have.
Delicious Mali Kofta, Saag Paneer, and Paneer Tikka. My friend has a wedding luncheon here and the food spread was pretty good! While the Palak Chaat was a bit heavy on the spices, the Pani Puri and variety of crispy Pakoras were tasty. Of the main dishes, the Palak Tikka with a spicy kick was the highlight. I went back to the buffet table 3 times to get heaping spoonfuls of rice to soak up that delicious curry! The okra bhindi with roasted potatoes hit the spot! The traditional Yellow Dhal Tadka was like home-made and flavorful. My friends enjoyed the Goat curry and Chicken Tikka made of the same curry as the Paneer Tikka. The Mango Mojito was delicious and noticed it was a popular cocktail as I saw many orange minty glasses floating around the room. The Mango Lassi was sweet and refreshing, great way to cool off amid the scorching summer heat! I enjoyed the food so much that the following weekend that I explored other vegetarian dishes on my own, the Malai Kofta and Saag Paneer really hit the spot! They kofta veggie croquette was made of paneer and veggies and there was a generous portion of paneer in the saag. The curries were surprisingly not greasy. While the Naan was cold and brittle at my friend's luncheon, it was really good fresh and had the fluffy texture that I was hoping for. Will definitely come back for more take-out and dabble into more dishes!
